Subway Reconstruction

The number 2 metro line (the red one) is under reconstruction from June 19 th till the end of August. During this period the subway operates with a modified schedule. The metro section between Stadionok station and Deák Ferenc tér is closed and substituting buses (marked with M2) carry passengers on the surface.

The bus stops are clearly marked and usually placed to the stops of ordinary buses. The metro operates normally between Stadionok station and Örs vezér tere. To the other direction, from Deák Ferenc tér to Déli pályaudvar (southern station) it operates as well, though the trains don't stop at Kossuth tér, due to the station's reconstruction. This station is accessible with buses leaving from Astoria, passing Deák Ferenc tér. Line tickets henceforward are valid in the whole length of the line, despite of changing vehicles. Information boards in English are to be found at every station, please read them carefully.

Budapest Farewell Festival on the Budapest Hajógyári Island on the weekend of June 26-27th. Among the programs there are reproductions of fighting on horseback as our ancestors did it around the year 1000 when they arrived to the Carpathian Basin, world famous wrangler features presenting the traditions of the Hungarian 'puszta', handicraft fairs and western shows.
